Step 2: Install InForm Grasshopper Plugin

With Rhinoceros installed and the package manager configured, you can now install the InForm plugin.

1 Open the Package Manager​

  1. Launch Rhinoceros
  2. Run the PackageManager command by typing it in the command line
    • Or navigate to Tools → Package Manager
  3. The Package Manager window will open

2 Search for InForm​

  1. In the Package Manager search box, type: InForm
  2. The InForm package should appear in the search results
  3. Click on the InForm package to view its details

3 Install the Plugin​

  1. Click the Install button
  2. Accept any prompts or license agreements if presented
  3. Wait for the installation to complete
    • You'll see a progress indicator during installation
    • Installation typically takes 1-2 minutes
Version Selection

Always install the latest available version unless instructed otherwise by your team or project requirements.

4 Restart Rhinoceros​

After the installation completes:

  1. Close Rhinoceros completely
  2. Reopen Rhinoceros to finalize the plugin installation
Important

The restart is required for Grasshopper to recognize the new plugin. The plugin will not appear until you restart.

5 Verify InForm Installation​

  1. Open Rhinoceros
  2. Launch Grasshopper (type Grasshopper in the command line or click the Grasshopper icon)
  3. In the Grasshopper window, look for the InForm tab in the component ribbon
  4. The InForm plugin panel should display with various component categories

If you can see the InForm tab with components, the installation was successful!

Troubleshooting​

InForm doesn't appear in search results​

2.1 Open Rhinoceros Options​

  1. Launch Rhinoceros
  2. Navigate to Tools → Options (or press F5)
  3. In the Options dialog, select Advanced from the left sidebar

2.2 Locate Package Manager Settings​

  1. In the search box at the top, type: PackageManager.Sources
  2. The setting Rhino.Options.PackageManager.Sources should appear in the list
  3. Click on this setting to select it

2.3 Update the Package Sources​

  1. Double-click the Value field or click the edit button
  2. Ensure the value is set exactly as follows:
https://yak.rhino3d.com;\\global\systems\Rhino

Plugin Gives Error when opening Grasshopper​

  1. Update to the latest version of Rhino.
